How Can I Fix Dry Mouth?

Posted on July 13th, 2010 by admin  |  1 Comment »

You can fix dry mouth by figuring out what is causing it.  Then you can target the cause of dry mouth and hopefully fix the situation.  At the same time, you can maintain proper dental hygiene to help ensure that your mouth stays moist.

Change Your Medication

Of course, this should never be done without discussing it with your doctor, but many instances of dry mouth are actually caused by medications.  If this is the case then the answer to dry mouth is simple.  Change the medication.

With the guidance of your doctor, you may only have to change the dosage of your medication or you may find it prudent to seek out a new medication entirely.  There are often many options for medicating conditions and you may be able to treat your condition without suffering dry mouth.  This method will only work if a medication you are taking is causing your dry mouth but this is a fairly common cause of this affliction.

Adhere To A Dental Hygiene Regimen

This is a way to help prevent and fix dry mouth for anyone.  If poor dental hygiene is not the only cause of dry mouth in your situation then it may not resolve the dry mouth entirely but to fix dry mouth you want to meticulously clean your mouth.  Obviously, you will need to brush your teeth at least twice a day.

Also, you will need to floss on a daily basis to be sure that you remove any food particles from between teeth.  You may also wish to try using natural products to round out your dental care routine.  Natural ingredients can often kill bacteria and help to remove them as part of a comprehensive dental care regimen.  Good dental care can help keep your mouth moist.

The keys to success in the battle against gum disease and most oral problems are hidden in nature. Fighting the bacteria that causes the problem is the first place to start and specific species of peppermint and spearmint oils are scientifically proven to be anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-microbial.

Understanding Lower Back Pain And What You Can Do About It

Posted on January 4th, 2010 by admin  |  3 Comments »

If you have had the unfortunate event of dealing with lower back pain, you are not alone. Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons people take a trip to their physician, and there is no sign of this letting up. What is troubling is that not everything is under your control when it comes to your back.

There are several different events that can cause pain in lower back region including lifting heavy objects, twisting and turning incorrectly during exercise, and long periods of inactivity. While there is no exact definition or defining measures summing up lower back pain, chronic back pain can be characterized as back pain that lasts for more than six weeks.

There are varying levels of pain that you may encounter from a sharp pain to a pinch. If the pain does begin to worsen and becomes unbearable, it is essential that you visit your physician. Your physician will be able to give you a better basis of what treatment methods are appropriate in regards to your particular situation.

With pain in lower back, it could be a number of different causes. One possibility is a pinched nerve, which can be identified if you feel a sharp pain that begins to spread to your buttocks or even down your leg. Typically it is the sciatic nerve that suffers from a herniated disc or pinched nerve. As the sciatic nerve is pinched, you may experience pain, tingling, or numbness in the buttock or backside of the leg.

What is troubling is that although a pinched sciatic nerve can lead to extreme and nagging pain, often times there is not much you can do to treat it. Physical therapy, massage, anti-inflammatory medications and chiropractic treatments are the best forms of treatment. But there is no guarantee that the back pain will not come back.

Another type of lower back pain is acute low back pain, which is caused by muscle inflammation and spasm. This generally starts as a nuisance and increases in severity over time. The pain that you experience will consist of aches and cramps and eventually move on to sharp pains. Surprisingly, simply laying down for awhile is a great reliever because it relieves the over-worked and stressed out muscles.

Lower back pain is frustrating because for the most part, there is no guarantee of you completely ridding yourself of the pain. You can get treatment from chiropractors and massages to loosen up the muscles, but there is nothing stopping the muscles from tensing up again. The key is to give your muscles a rest and take caution when working out and lifting heavy objects.

Arthritis Pain Relief – You Can Get Rid Of Your Arthritis Pain Naturally

Posted on November 24th, 2009 by admin  |  2 Comments »

A few years ago I accidentally discovered how to rid myself of arthritis pain, naturally. I got rid of my arthritis and arthritis pain forever by changing my diet. Unlike some other types of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis is not systemic; it does not spread through the entire body.

Arthritis concentrates in one or several joints where deterioration occurs. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis.

The synovium is a membrane that surrounds the whole joint; it’s filled with synovial fluid, a lubricating liquid that supplies nutrients and oxygen to the cartilage. Cartilage contains a high percentage of water, but it decreases with age. Joints are designed for normal and painless movement and are primarily supplied by thesynovium and cartilage.

As chondrocytes (the cells that make up cartilage) age, they lose their ability to make repairs and produce more cartilage; this process may play an important role in the development and progression ofosteoarthritis. Injuries sometimes can be the start in the arthritic disease process; osteoarthritis can develop years later even after a single traumatic injury to a joint or near a joint.

An inflammatory response causes cytokines, to gather in injured areas and cause inflammation and damage to body tissue and cells; it’s known to play a role inrheumatoid arthritis and other muscle and joint problems associated with autoimmune diseases.

If you really want to get rid of your arthritis pain forever it may take a radical change in your diet and an ongoing commitment. One natural treatment method involves avoiding all inflammatory foods. Try massaging your fingers or other affected joints with coconut oil twice a day.

Keep in mind, if you take a joint supplement it should help do three things — build cartilage, relieve everyday joint pain, and enhance your flexibility and movement. Many have told me that going off dairy products and gluten containing foods relieved their arthritis pain entirely. Some people swear by glucosamine and/or chondroitin and others say it didn’t help at all.

An acidic diet, that is any foods not alive, is considered to be inflammatory to the joints. For snacks, choose raw nuts without salt instead of lifeless roasted nuts. Natural treatment for arthritis is usually a better choice because it’s non-invasive to the body. Many arthritis sufferers have changed their diets and noticed significant or total improvement.

To be on the safe side always seek your doctor’s advice before starting or changing your exercise program. Exercise in a heated pool; it will help reduce the pressure on your joints and the heat will help you loosen those joints. Your body has 147 joints in motion every day. Even the lightest exercise can go a long way to maintaining your joint mobility and overall health.

If you have pain and swelling in your fingers, try squeezing Thera-putty made for this purpose or exercising with two Chinese chime balls. Fight arthritis through proper exercise! Try to keep painful joint areas in motion, even in a limited manner.

If you’re going to go the conventional treatment route and take medications, ask your pharmacist for drug inserts so you can read up on the drugs and understand any side effects or adverse reactions, before taking them. Be aware that the use of NSAIDs or Cox-2 inhibitors do not halt the progress ofosteoarthritis and may even hasten the onset. Once you become more informed about arthritis you’ll be able to plan an arthritis treatment program, natural or conventional or a combination of both.

Changing your diet to predominately fruits and raw veggies, like I did, can turn your arthritis pain around almost overnight. More and more doctors are investigating the benefits of alternative therapies and most don’t object to patients trying them. One should not only search for relief of arthritis pain but work on preventing it.

Pain and Suffering Compensation

Posted on October 30th, 2009 by admin  |  2 Comments »

I’m wondering if this is something the person filing a legal action may have thought of, or if this is something the barristers like to throw on to get some additional cash.

Though I believe there are occasions when this kind of things could be applicable, and an individual may merit some cash for this kind of thing, I suspect other times it is just gluttony. A mate from Australia tells me that Yankee’s have the reputation of suing at the drop of the hat, and I can fully see why this is. If somebody is completely doing something with no regard for human life, this could be something that would teach them a lesson.

However, if you are concerned in an automobile accident, and it was judged one individual’s fault, it could be something you need to skip. If they caused the accident, but they weren’t being reckless, maybe discomfort and suffering compensation is taking things a touch too far. You do hear about discomfort and suffering compensation all the time, and the majority of it comes from your own TV. A major proportion of my local commercials feature barristers, and these counsels are always ones that deal with the higher price problems.

They know where the cash is and the way to get it. I assume my concern is that there are occasions when it would appear it is too simple to get money out of somebody for pain and suffering, and a few of these cases should have not seen the light of day. There’s the legendary case where the lady sued McDonalds because her coffee was too hot and burned her. Everyone knows it was an unnecessary court action, and this girl simply lacked commonsense. She won an enormous agony and suffering compensation though , and this just led straight to more of the same. It is a shame that folk like to milk their own foolishness to get some other person to give them a free go.
